Collapsed Road Causes Long Line of Cars from Jakarta

TEMPO.COJakarta - Vehicles from Jakarta are forced to queue for approximately 6 kilometers long of line, starting from Km 66, for going toward Cikopo Toll road, and the contra-flow lane at Km 70-71 of Cipularang Toll, Saturday afternoon, January 25. The queue that has started since this morning was caused by the collapse of Cipularang Toll road at Km 72 and the Pantura lane.

"At the start, the destination from Jakarta to Bandung can fit three lanes from lane B, but starting from Km 70-71 the vehicles have to queue to enter one contraflow lane on line A (to Jakarta). The contra-flow lane that is around 2 kilometers long, is moving slowly," said Purwakarta Police Resort chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Slamet Hariyadi, Saturday, January 25.
The CCTV at the central communication PT Jasamarga Purbaleunyi branch showed a number of officers appeared to be still repairing the damaged road at around Km 72. Traffic cones have been placed several hundred meters away from the location.
He said the police have at least conducted three strategies following the collapse. First, he said, was to collaborate with PT Jasamarga so the collapsed road would be repaired immediately. "It has been agreed that it will be repaired within three days at maximum. So the lane at around Km 72 would return to normal, tomorrow. I'm not sure at what time, but it should be completed by tomorrow," he said.
