Indonesian Film Board Appoints First Chairman

TEMPO.COJakarta - The newly-born Indonesian Film Board (BPI) has elected Alex Komang as the first BPI Coordinating Chairman for 2014 to 2017 period. Alex, an artist and film enthusiast, was voted by 40 film organizations on Saturday January 18.

"We chose Alex Komang because we see him as the most capable and more experienced in film industry compared to myself," said Gatot Brajamusti, one of the BPI chair candidate and the Chairman of Indonesian Film Artist Association (Parfi).
The conference on BPI establishment was held starting from January 15 until January 17 in Jakarta. In addition to point out a Chair, the conference has also validating three other issues, which were BPI's legal status, statutory and budgeting.
